Huawei extends \'Tau law\' beyond smartphones to next-generation base stations, seeks way around U.S. curbs

Huawei has applied a new chip design principle it developed in response to U.S. advanced semiconductor export controls to next-generation wireless base stations, the South China Morning Post reported. The company said its Tau scaling-based time compression concept has improved performance and efficiency, including higher perceived network quality and lower energy use in its latest baseband product. Huawei has also expanded the approach to smartphones and plans to apply it to AI chips.

BYD nears unveiling $300,000 ultra-luxury electric sedan, solid-state battery in focus

China\'s BYD is expected to unveil an ultra-luxury electric sedan in the United Arab Emirates in early November. The new flagship model from its top-end Yangwang brand could feature a solid-state battery and rear-hinged coach doors, though specifications have not been confirmed. Reports said it may be revealed in Dubai around Nov. 5. Pricing is expected to be about $300,000, well above Yangwang’s existing lineup.

Tesla drops Cybertruck launch plans in Australia and New Zealand, refunds all deposits after 7 years

Tesla has officially withdrawn plans to launch its Cybertruck electric pickup in Australia and New Zealand, cancelling all existing reservations. The company emailed customers to inform them their orders were cancelled because production plans for those markets were halted, and said deposits would be fully refunded within 30 days. Reservations in Australia had been available since November 2019 with a A$150 deposit. The move comes after Tesla reported its 2026 third-quarter results.
