Netherlands orders Polymarket unit to halt operations
Polymarket has been sanctioned in the Netherlands for violating gambling laws, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 20 local time. The Dutch gambling regulator said Polymarket\'s Dutch entity, Adventure One, provided illegal betting, imposed a fine and ordered an immediate halt to operations. It said a further penalty of up to $990,000 could be imposed for noncompliance. Polymarket is also facing similar pressure in the United States.
