Samsung SDS joins OpenAI \'Daybreak\' to push AI-based security business
Samsung SDS said on Sept. 8 it will join OpenAI’s Daybreak Partner Program as a pilot partner and expand its AI-based cybersecurity business. Daybreak focuses on improving the full security process, from finding vulnerabilities to verifying impact, prioritising risks, generating and testing patches and confirming final fixes. Samsung SDS plans to combine OpenAI frontier models with its IT system expertise. OpenAI has expanded Daybreak into Blue and Red, offering GPT-5.6-Cyber to Red users.

Cloudflare uses OpenAI cybersecurity model to detect, block code vulnerabilities
Cloudflare has begun offering early access to a service that finds vulnerabilities in customers\' application software and blocks attacks at the network edge. The service uses OpenAI’s GPT-5.6-Cyber model via the Daybreak Defense Network and operates within Cloudflare’s Managed Defense security monitoring service. It maps open paths, links them to code, analyzes Workers code and assigns risk ratings after verification.

East Security is launching an endpoint detection and response product linked to LG AI Research’s K-EXAONE model and signed an MOU with FuriosaAI. Theori supplied an AI-based penetration-testing tool to Woori Financial Group, and Cluocus is accelerating AI security efforts. M&A is also emerging, with Nets acquiring API security firm Softfreak.
