Mac OS X runs on Nintendo Wii, with mouse and keyboard support

A porting project that runs Mac OS X directly on Nintendo\'s Wii has been unveiled, drawing attention for executing the operating system at the hardware level rather than through emulation. Engineer Bryan Keller succeeded in booting the 2001 Mac OS X \"Cheetah\" on the console by analysing PowerPC compatibility, working around Wii\'s 88MB memory, and modifying open-source Darwin code. The work included a new bootloader, custom device drivers and video output conversion, and now supports mouse and keyboard input.
