Memory-led price rises to lift IT device costs up to 40 percent
Rising memory prices are expected to push up costs for IT devices such as smartphones, PCs, TVs and tablets by at least 15 to 40 percent, with increases spreading to finished-device prices. Spot memory indicators have jumped in recent weeks, and some products have posted sharp gains. Analysts say this year differs from prior cycles as AI data centres and high-bandwidth memory draw production capacity, structurally tightening supply of general-purpose memory.
