Sam Altman delays South Korea visit after birth of second daughter
Sam Altman delayed a planned trip to South Korea after the timing overlapped with the birth of his second daughter, the industry said. He had been due to visit on June 14 to 15 and also cancelled trips to Japan and Europe. OpenAI said cooperation with South Korean partners would continue as scheduled, but did not disclose the reason for the cancellation or future travel plans.

Sam Altman to visit Samsung, Kakao, Naver to discuss expanding AI cooperation
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman will visit South Korea on June 14 and depart on the evening of June 15, meeting Samsung Electronics, Kakao and Naver, industry sources said. He is set to hold a talk event with Samsung’s DX division staff at its Digital City campus in Suwon and meet Kakao CEO Jeong Shin-a in Seongnam. Altman also plans to visit Naver’s 1784 building.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (샘 알트먼) will visit South Korea on June 14 and leave on the evening of June 15, visiting Samsung Electronics and Kakao over a one-night, two-day trip. He will hold a DX Insight Talk event with Samsung’s DX division employees in Suwon on June 15. Afterward, he will meet Kakao CEO Jeong Shin-a (정신아) in Pangyo to discuss additional cooperation, Kakao said.
