Hotel check-in without physical passport becomes reality as Roadsystem enters Japan tourism market
South Korean venture Roadsystem completed a proof of concept for a blockchain decentralised identity-based mobile passport fast check-in service at hotels in Japan, providing a foothold for entering the country’s tourism infrastructure market. The trial was conducted with DNP and USEN-ALMEX and operated for foreign guests at Japanese hotels. The company said the service enables self check-in in under 30 seconds and plans to expand to more than 1,000 hotels in Japan in 2026.
