Circle urges EU to speed up DLT reform, says stablecoin payments need to expand
Circle urged European Union policymakers to accelerate reforms to the bloc’s digital asset framework, The Block reported on March 23. Circle said the European Commission’s market integration package was a meaningful step to modernise capital markets, but still had limits on scalability, supervision and settlement. It backed changes to the EU’s DLT pilot regime, seeking a broader set of eligible assets and higher volume thresholds, and called for expanded settlement use of MiCA-compliant stablecoins.
