Google secures 20-year nuclear power supply, adds 890 MW to meet data centre demand
Google will secure an additional 890 megawatts of generation capacity from existing U.S. nuclear power plants to meet rising electricity demand from AI data centres. Google and Constellation Energy signed a 20-year power purchase agreement to supply 890 MW to the PJM grid by upgrading equipment at six nuclear plants across Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Constellation plans to invest at least $4.3 billion, with initial supply in 2028.
