SBI targets Southeast Asia with Coinhako acquisition, brings 1.11 trillion Shiba Inu tokens into group
SBI Holdings has made Singapore crypto exchange Coinhako a subsidiary, bringing its digital asset holdings into the group ecosystem, including 1.11 trillion Shiba Inu tokens. The acquisition was carried out through SBI Ventures Asset and completed after final approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. SBI plans to use Coinhako as a base to expand blockchain-based financial services in Southeast Asia and link users to the yen-pegged stablecoin JPYSC and tokenised real-world asset products.

SBI buys controlling stake in Singapore crypto platform Coinhako with MAS approval
SBI Holdings has acquired a controlling stake in Holdbuild, the parent of Singapore cryptocurrency platform Coinhako, after receiving approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Cointelegraph reported SBI bought shares from existing shareholders through a capital injection, bringing Coinhako into its group as a consolidated subsidiary. Coinhako holds an MAS major payment institution licence through its unit Hakko Technology Pte. Ltd. The deal value was not disclosed.

SBI Holdings seeks controlling stake in Singapore crypto exchange Coinhako
SBI Holdings has signed a letter of intent to acquire a stake in Singapore cryptocurrency exchange Coinhako, Cointelegraph reported. The transaction will be carried out through SBI Ventures Asset. Once completed, SBI Holdings will become Coinhako\'s controlling shareholder and plans to fold it into a wholly owned subsidiary after regulatory approval. Chairman Yoshitaka Kitao said the deal is part of a strategy to build global infrastructure spanning digital assets, securities and stablecoins.
