Naver TV to shut after 14 years as video focus shifts to Clip and Chizizik
Naver will shut its Naver TV video service at 3 p.m. on Sept. 30, ending a platform that began in 2012 as Naver TVcast. From Sept. 3, new sign-ups and channel creation will be blocked. Creator profiles will start moving to short-form service Clip from Sept. 10. Naver said the decision reflects changes in the content environment and a plan to focus capabilities on Clip and Chizizik.

Naver holds third Clip Creators Day to broaden support for creators
Naver said it held its third Clip Creators Day on March 8 at its 1784 headquarters, inviting specialist Clip creators to share future support measures and service direction. The company plans to launch an AI editor within the year to simplify production by automatically sorting media, adding information tags and recommending hashtags and music. It will also enhance the Clip Creator application with new post-type analytics and expanded tools, broaden monetisation to posts combining text and images, and revamp the Clip tab to support fandom building.

Naver to select up to 20,000 Clip creators this year, run program year-round
Naver will significantly expand support for creators on its short-form service Clip. The company will begin selecting participants for its 2026 Clip Creator Program from Feb. 7 and move from five-month recruitment cycles to a year-round system. The initial selection will start at 10,000 creators and expand to as many as 20,000. Selected creators can receive benefits worth up to 900,000 won a month.
