Stablecoin payment models take shape from FX to remittances
Moves by South Korean companies to integrate stablecoins into payment services are accelerating as industry plans become more concrete. Hecto Financial is working with Singapore-based stablecoin payments firm TripleA to build a global payment and settlement service, and has joined Circle’s Circle Payments Network. Blockchain-based payment and settlement infrastructure company SuhoIO unveiled a next-generation foreign exchange settlement model using stablecoins.

Banks roll out livelihood accounts to block seizures, protect 2.5 million won
South Korea\'s banking sector is rolling out dedicated livelihood accounts designed to protect minimum living funds from seizure and provisional seizure. The protected limit rises to 2.5 million won a month from 1.85 million won under a revised enforcement decree of the Civil Execution Act. Major commercial banks introduced products with fee waivers and online sign-ups, while a savings bank launched a demand deposit account offering protection and interest benefits.

Korea Post launches \'Post Office Livelihood Expense Account\' with preferential rates and fee waivers
The Ministry of Science and ICT\'s Korea Post said on Feb. 2 it launched the \'Post Office Livelihood Expense Account\' to protect minimum living expenses and support financial recovery. The account is legally protected from seizure and covers up to 2.5 million won per month. Any individual under real-name registration can open one account, subject to deposit and balance limits. Korea Post also offers preferential rates up to 1.0 percent and waives selected fees.
