MNX, a decentralised futures exchange focused on the AI economy, raised $6.4 million in pre-seed funding. Village Global led the round, with participation from Cambrian, North Island Ventures, Finality Capital and Relay Digital, along with angel investors including Augur and Gnosis co-founder Matt Liston and Gitcoin\'s Scott Moore. Founded last fall by Manifold Markets co-founders Stephen Grugett and Ian Phillips, MNX is building a venue for AI-related assets.

Economist Steve Keen, who is known for foreseeing the 2008 financial crisis, warned that bitcoin could ultimately fall to zero in value. He said bitcoin\'s security depends on energy-intensive computation, leaving it vulnerable to higher costs and to policy and regulatory pressure as countries seek to curb energy use. He also cited geopolitical risks to energy supply, questioned bitcoin\'s usefulness as money and flagged deflationary risks from fixed supply.
