Nexon to end \'Bubble Fighter\' service on June 24, closing 17-year run
Nexon said on April 23 it will end service for its casual online TPS “Bubble Fighter,” which it has operated for 17 years since its 2009 launch, on June 24. The company said it judged it difficult to provide a satisfactory service given the current user environment and operating conditions. In-game shop services and certain events ended immediately after the regular maintenance on the day.

Nexon says no layoffs, 2027 target adjustment is a timeline issue
Nexon on Monday rejected the possibility of workforce cuts during a capital markets briefing in Tokyo and detailed its stance on 2027 targets and cost structure improvements. Chairman Patrick Soderlund said there are no plans for layoffs. CFO Shiro Uemura said the company aims to redeploy staff through pipeline adjustments rather than restructuring. CEO Jung-heon Lee said it wants to maintain project-based incentive pay while applying sharper standards to overall labor costs.

Nexon CEO Lee Jung-heon said the company aims to move beyond one-off purchases to build lifelong relationships with players. Speaking at a capital market briefing in Tokyo, he reviewed progress since 2024 and outlined plans including franchise expansion, a pipeline of six new titles and an AI strategy called Monolake. He cited weaker results for Dungeon & Fighter Mobile and The First Descendant, while pointing to growth across MapleStory and Dungeon & Fighter PC.
