Coupang urges voting in June 3 local elections, seeks days off for 18,000 delivery drivers
Coupang Logistics Services (CLS) said on May 19 it is seeking to arrange days off for more than 18,000 delivery drivers during the June 3 nationwide local elections. It said more than 6,000 drivers a day have applied for leave over three days including early voting on May 29 and 30 and election day on June 3. CLS said it has asked subcontracted delivery firms to adjust schedules to allow at least one day off.

FTC changes Coupang controlling person to founder Kim Bum-suk; Coupang to challenge in court
South Korea\'s Fair Trade Commission on Tuesday changed Coupang\'s designated controlling person from the company to founder Kim Bum-suk. The designation affects disclosure obligations and the scope of rules on unfair internal transactions. The FTC said it concluded Kim\'s brother did not meet an exception requirement because he effectively took part in management. Coupang said it would explain its position through an administrative lawsuit and plans to file an objection within 7 days.

Harold Rogers, Coupang acting chief, completes dawn delivery experience
Coupang said on March 20 that acting chief Harold Rogers completed a dawn delivery experience. The activity was carried out to fulfil a promise made at a National Assembly hearing last December, after Democratic Party lawmaker Yeom Tae-young suggested he try late-night delivery work. Rogers worked from 8:30 p.m. on March 19 to 6:30 a.m. in Seongnam, following the full process of a delivery driver’s routine.
