KT rolls out integrated security governance in high-intensity overhaul push

KT is overhauling its companywide information security system around a newly formed information security office, it said on Wednesday. The company said it has redesigned its security structure, scope and operating standards to build an execution-focused system for constant prevention and pre-emptive response. KT will run an integrated security governance model led by its chief information security officer and also revamp privacy protection under its chief privacy officer.

Toss Payments becomes first in South Korea’s finance, IT sectors to fully adopt post-quantum cryptography

Toss Payments, a payment gateway unit of Viva Republica, has fully adopted post-quantum cryptography, becoming the first in South Korea’s finance and IT sectors to do so. The company said the technology now covers the entire electronic payment service process where payment data is created and transmitted, including its data centres, AWS cloud infrastructure and payment pages. Users receive the added security automatically, with fallback to existing encryption in unsupported environments.

KT overhauls organisation, cuts executive ranks about 30 percent to focus on renewal and efficiency

KT said on Monday it will carry out a 2026 organisational overhaul and executive appointments to become South Korea\'s top AX platform company. It said the changes focus on personnel renewal, improving management efficiency and strengthening field management centred on customer service and quality. KT said it will replace department heads reporting to the CEO, cut executive-level organisations by about 30 percent, integrate security functions and reorganise AI R&D.
