AI-driven autonomous security response? \"Shift to an outcome-based security system\"

He said security workloads have exceeded what humans can manage and that adding staff or deploying isolated AI agents will not solve the problem. Up to 3 percent fines for firms with repeat cyber incidents under network law from Oct. 1

South Korea will impose administrative fines of up to 3 percent of related revenue on companies that repeatedly cause cyber incidents through intent or gross negligence. The revised Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection and its enforcement decree take effect on Oct. 1, the science ministry said. The changes raise the status of chief information security officers to executive level for some firms and require security committees.

A survey of about 300 security practitioners, released in the AI Security Decisions Report by security professionals Lenny Zeltser (레니 젤서) and Sounil Yu (수닐 유), highlights four findings. Firms mainly use existing security tools rather than AI-specific products. Fewer apply dedicated protections to key assets needed for AI agents. Responsibility for AI security remains unclear. Fewer than half have dedicated controls for AI-generated code, despite it being a common AI asset.
