AI stocks see surge in volatility as Nvidia moves swing fortunes overnight
Volatility in AI-related stocks is increasing, extending from chip and model developers and cloud firms to companies supplying parts for AI data centres and to raw material prices. Sandisk shares surged 27 percent on Jan. 6, with growing NAND flash demand tied to the AI data centre boom. Cooling-equipment makers fell after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said new AI server racks would not require external cooling. Copper and NAND flash price rises are also in focus.
