BMTC publishes practical guidelines for Korean Sign Language interpretation broadcasts

The Broadcasting Media and Telecommunications Commission said on Aug. 18 it published practical guidelines on Korean Sign Language interpretation broadcasts with the Korea Communications Agency to improve Deaf viewers’ access to broadcasting. The guidelines set three basic principles, tailored guides for interpreters and broadcasters, practical tips by genre, and a feedback system involving stakeholders. Appendices include last-minute checks and emergency-response lists. Key content is also provided via QR-linked sign-language videos.
