Japan digital securities to open to foreign investors as SBI, Daiwa eye 2027 trading
SBI Securities and Daiwa Securities are building a trading framework to allow overseas investors to invest in Japanese digital securities, with a possible launch as early as 2027. The initiative aims to expand a market largely limited to domestic residents. The firms have validated a direct trading base with Singapore with the fintech firm Boostry. They are also reviewing use of Circle’s dollar-backed stablecoin for settlement and considering a yen-based stablecoin later.
