AI computing power shortage deepens, squeezing AI startups
A worsening shortage of AI chips is prompting major cloud companies to allocate GPU inventory first to internal demand and large customers, increasing pressure on AI startups. Some startups are said to be paying higher costs to access GPU servers. The Information reported that even heavily funded startups are affected, as demand from major AI developers rises and cloud providers limit capacity for smaller clients while raising fees for Nvidia GPU servers.

Nvidia supplies GPT-5.5 Codex to 10,000 employees, cutting cost to one-35th
OpenAI’s GPT-5.5-based Codex has been deployed on Nvidia Blackwell systems, with more than 10,000 Nvidia employees beginning to use it. Nvidia said the rollout cut costs to one-35th of GPT-4o levels and increased token output per megawatt by 50 times. Codex has expanded beyond coding help to an agent tool supporting non-technical work across departments. Nvidia employees praised the results, and Jensen Huang said agents do work beyond answering questions.

Nvidia, Google Cloud expand AI cooperation, unveil new infrastructure and services
Nvidia and Google Cloud are expanding cooperation to build hyperscale infrastructure for next-generation agentic AI and physical AI. The companies plan to expand the Google Cloud AI Hypercomputer and offer A5X bare-metal instances based on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform. Nvidia said A5X can scale to 80,000 GPUs at a single site and up to 960,000 GPUs across multi-site clusters, while improving throughput per watt and reducing inference costs per token.
