Charles Hoskinson says no dominant player in Bitcoin DeFi, sees opening for Cardano
Charles Hoskinson has pointed to Bitcoin DeFi (BTCFi) as a key growth area where Cardano can gain an early lead. He said no project currently dominates the competition and argued Cardano already has the right technology and a head start. He also cited Cardano’s Midnight partner chain and recent atomic swap progress.

One click to grow Bitcoin: Charles Hoskinson unveils ADA plan
Charles Hoskinson (찰스 호스킨슨), founder of Cardano (ADA), set a goal of launching a Cardano-based Bitcoin yield system within the year. The plan focuses on enabling Bitcoin holders to earn returns with a single click without going through complex DeFi steps. Fireblocks integrates Bitcoin layer2 Stacks to support institutional Bitcoin DeFi
Fireblocks has integrated Stacks, a DeFi layer for the Bitcoin protocol, to provide institutional investors with Bitcoin-based lending and interest opportunities, Cointelegraph reported on Tuesday. Fireblocks uses the Stacks blockchain to address Bitcoin’s 10-minute block time, with Stacks averaging about 29 seconds. Stacks said all Stacks transactions are recorded on the Bitcoin ledger, easing a key barrier for financial institutions seeking to use BTC-based DeFi. The service is due in early 2026.
