U.S. Congress introduces \'ARMA\' bill to mandate 20-year holding of bitcoin reserves

Seventeen Republican and Democratic lawmakers in the United States have introduced a bill dubbed ARMA to make government-held bitcoin a strategic reserve asset. The bill would require the Treasury to hold digital assets as reserve assets for at least 20 years and consolidate seized or forfeited digital assets held across federal agencies under Treasury management. It would also mandate proof-of-reserves reporting. The proposal does not require additional bitcoin purchases.
