XRP rally tops top 100 cryptocurrencies by gains
XRP surged as much as about 24 percent on Aug. 20, the biggest gain among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market value. It climbed to about $1.26 and was up about 31 percent over seven days. XRP’s rise outpaced other major altcoins. With a market value of about $79.15 billion, it ranked fifth among cryptocurrencies, with about $6.34 billion in 24-hour trading volume.

BNY Mellon subsidiary joins MiCA register as ESMA adds 15 providers
The European Securities and Markets Authority added 15 crypto-asset service providers to the MiCA register, lifting the total number of registered entities to 309. The update includes BNY SA/NV, a Belgian subsidiary of BNY Mellon, along with four banks and digital asset platforms. It was the third post-deadline update since the July 1 transition date. Registrations rose most in Germany and Denmark, with three additions each.

MoonPay adds Discover Network payment support
MoonPay has added the Discover Network as a payment method, making it the third U.S. card network it supports after Visa and Mastercard. MoonPay also supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, bank transfers and local payment networks. The addition means eligible cards operating on the Discover Network can be used on MoonPay, though whether a specific card can buy cryptocurrency still depends on the issuing bank’s policy.
