Galaxy secures New York BitLicense to expand institutional crypto services
Galaxy Digital received a BitLicense and a money transmitter licence from the New York State Department of Financial Services to expand digital-asset services for institutional clients in New York. The licences were granted to its subsidiary GalaxyOne Prime NY, which provides trading and financing services to institutional investors. CEO Mike Novogratz said the approval would help broaden institutional access to digital assets. New York’s BitLicense, introduced in 2015, requires extensive compliance.

eToro launches crypto services in New York three years after securing BitLicense
Trading platform eToro has launched cryptocurrency services for customers in New York about three years after obtaining the state’s BitLicense. The head of eToro’s U.S. unit, Andrew McCormick (앤드류 맥코믹), said the company will initially offer about 20 tokens within New York’s regulatory framework and expand gradually. eToro said it offers about 115 cryptocurrencies globally and plans to add staking in New York.

Strike wins New York BitLicense, builds services across 50 U.S. states
Bitcoin payments firm Strike has obtained a BitLicense and a money transmitter licence from the New York State Department of Financial Services, The Block reported on March 6. The approvals allow Strike to provide bitcoin financial services to New York residents and businesses. Strike will offer services including bitcoin brokerage, recurring purchases, converting payroll into bitcoin and paying bills using bitcoin balances. Its founder and CEO Jack Mallers called the licence a decisive milestone.
