USDC, USDT dominate stablecoin card market with 84 percent of payments
Stablecoin card payments are growing rapidly, with a clear shift toward dollar-linked stablecoins. July stablecoin card payment volume rose to $759 million, about 2.5 times from a year earlier, and USDC and USDT accounted for 84 percent of the total. Transaction counts also increased to about 9 million. By currency, USDC and USDT gained share while euro-based EURe fell sharply. Payment networks also shifted toward Optimism, Solana and Base.

Stablecoin card payments are emerging as a major theme in the crypto industry in 2026. Cointelegraph reported that Dragonfly’s Hasib Qureshi said stablecoin cards would reshape global economic payment flows. Bloomberg Intelligence forecast that stablecoin payment flows would grow 81 percent a year on average to reach $56.6 trillion by 2030. Fintech startup Rain raised $250 million and said its annual payment volume rose 40-fold. Some investors remain skeptical.
