EU expands ban on Belarus nationals owning crypto service providers
The European Union will ban Belarus nationals and residents from owning, controlling or taking part in the management of crypto service providers regulated under MiCA in the bloc from Aug. 25. The measure is part of EU Council decision 2026/1847 expanding EU sanctions on Belarus, Cointelegraph reported. The decision took effect on July 24, with the expanded crypto provisions applying from Aug. 25.

Daemon Tools official website distributed malicious installers undetected for a month
A supply-chain attack distributed trojanised installers from the official website of virtual drive utility Daemon Tools. Kaspersky’s Global Research and Analysis Team said the malicious installers were distributed directly via Daemon Tools’ official vendor website from May 8 local time and went undetected for about a month. Affected versions ranged from 12.5.0.2421 to 12.5.0.2434. Kaspersky recorded thousands of infection attempts in more than 100 countries.

NCSoft\'s \'TL\' to launch in 11 countries including Russia and Eastern Europe on May 19
NCSoft is expanding the service region for its MMORPG “Throne and Liberty (TL)” to 11 countries across Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the company said on Wednesday. TL is set to launch on May 19. Five Eastern European countries and five Central Asian countries are included. NCSoft previously ran a closed beta test from April 21 to 28 to check technical metrics and server optimisation and plans to reflect user feedback with local publisher Astrum Entertainment.
