France central bank calls for tougher MiCA rules on stablecoin payments
A French central bank official has urged the European Union to strengthen MiCA rules related to stablecoins, especially those not pegged to the euro when used for payments, Cointelegraph reported. France\'s parliament is separately advancing a bill that would require reporting for self-custody crypto wallets. Senior Deputy Governor Denis Beau said the Bank of France has consistently called for tighter MiCA provisions and warned MiCA only partly addresses risks from industry changes.
