Big tech steps up push into physical AI
Big tech companies are moving faster into so-called physical AI that applies AI in the real world, including robots, cars and drones, as they seek to secure an early lead in a market seen as smaller than chatbots for now but with high potential. Nvidia, AWS, SoftBank, Anthropic and Xpeng are among those expanding initiatives. South Korean companies and institutions are also stepping up projects, funding and partnerships, even as concerns persist about data shortages and reliability.

Government, three carriers step up next-generation network investment push, revamp regulation
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the country\'s three mobile carriers discussed expanding investment in next-generation networks for the AI era and reviewed preparations for commercialising 5G standalone mode (SA) by year-end. The talks focused on ways to raise declining capital expenditure and on investment directions for AI-RAN and 6G. They also covered regulatory rationalisation, budget and tax support, network transition plans and revisions to net neutrality guidelines and telecom quality assessments.

Kakao Games unveils \'God Save Birmingham\' co-op mode at Gamescom
Kakao Games said on Aug. 26 that its subsidiary Ocean Drive Studio will exhibit its new title \'God Save Birmingham\' at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, and has released a new trailer. The studio will run a B2B booth and provide demonstrations for industry participants at the event. A new trailer unveiled on Aug. 21 first introduced the in-game co-op mode. Kakao Games plans co-op-focused tests before expanding beta recruitment via Steam.
