KT, Palantir wrap up in-house AI hackathon \'Agent Camp\'

KT has worked with global AI company Palantir to identify AI agent projects aimed at solving on-the-job problems and strengthening business-to-business AI transformation capabilities. KT held an in-house AI hackathon, dubbed Agent Camp, from July 13 to 15 at its Bundang office in Seongnam. The event set out three projects, built agents using Palantir Foundry and AIP, and tested their potential for real-world deployment.

Stripe, Advent submit $53.4 billion offer to jointly buy PayPal

B2B payments platform Stripe and private equity firm Advent International have submitted a joint proposal to buy PayPal for about $53.4 billion. TechCrunch reported the offer was made early this month and the pair had arranged about $50 billion in financing. If the deal goes through, the two would split ownership of PayPal evenly. PayPal has not made a public comment on the proposal.

LG Uplus bets on Ixio differentiation from calls to physical AI

LG Uplus is expanding the scope of its AI agent Ixio from call support to broader daily-life services such as search, scheduling and roaming, while exploring links to physical AI. The company aims to develop Ixio into an ambient AI that connects devices and spaces through voice. With about 1.5 million monthly active users, Ixio trails SK Telecom’s A.dot, which has more than 10 million MAU. LG Uplus is cautious about monetisation and is pursuing overseas carrier partnerships and B2B models.
