Tech Insight: Open source did not kill software industry, nor will AI
Matt Calkins (매트 칼킨스), CEO of business process automation company Appian, said AI will not be able to threaten the software industry despite some forecasts. He pointed to the history of open-source software, saying concerns about collapsing prices did not materialise. Calkins said AI-generated code is more likely to cut internal costs at software companies than reduce prices, and that buyers value support, services, upgrades, communities and trusted outcomes.
