Databricks executive offers survival tips for new hires choosing a first job in the AI era
New graduates should build technical skills over following passion when choosing a first job and should work in person to build networks, a Databricks executive advised. Andy Kofoid said the first 3 to 10 years of a career lay the foundation for coping with later change. He said job seekers entering the labour market are vulnerable because they lack experience and skills, and recommended office work 4 to 5 days a week for learning and relationships.
