AWS expands push into physical AI, builds operations base linking cloud and edge
As physical AI expands into robots, industrial equipment, cameras and autonomous mobile robots, Amazon Web Services is moving to build an operating system that links the cloud and the edge. It unveiled a cloud-edge integrated solution last month for customers developing physical AI systems. AWS said key challenges include data and simulation, latency and post-deployment operations. Partners are building augmented data pipelines and AWS is offering cloud infrastructure, data services and edge management tools.

AWS launches Lambda microVM, supports running isolated containers for up to 8 hours
AWS has added microVM capability to its serverless platform Lambda, based on its lightweight virtual machine technology Firecracker. The feature extends Lambda\'s execution limit from 15 minutes to up to 8 hours and lets developers upload Dockerfiles and application files to Amazon S3 for conversion into Firecracker snapshots. AWS said the feature can support isolated code execution for security checks and AI safety use cases, with usage-based per-second pricing.

AWS to hold AWS Summit Seoul 2026 in May, outline next 20-year vision led by agentic AI
Amazon Web Services will hold the AI and cloud conference AWS Summit Seoul 2026 on May 20-21 at COEX in Seoul. Marking 20 years since the launch of Amazon S3 and 10 years since opening the Seoul region, AWS will review its past two decades and present a vision for the next 20 years led by agentic AI. The event includes special booths and industry and AI sessions with keynotes by AWS executives and partners.
