Coupang starts 50,000 won coupon payments after personal data leak
Coupang began issuing purchase vouchers worth 50,000 won per person from Jan. 15 to 33.7 million customers notified of a personal data leak, including Wow members, regular users and former members. The vouchers cover Rocket Delivery, Coupang Eats, Coupang Travel and Allux, usable until April 15. Criticism persists that the plan drives additional spending. Legal pressure continues with class-action claims and a government probe. Civic and labour groups called the plan deceptive marketing and launched refusal and withdrawal campaigns.
