Kakao Entertainment, Naver Webtoon win damages suit against \'Ajitun\' operator, court upholds 20 billion won liability
Kakao Entertainment and Naver Webtoon said on March 19 they won a civil lawsuit against the operator of Ajitun, an illegal distribution site for webtoons and web novels. A court on March 11 fully accepted each plaintiff\'s 1 billion won damages claim, recognising total liability of 2 billion won. The court ordered payment of damages, late interest and provisional enforcement. Ajitun illegally distributed about 750,000 webtoons and 2.5 million web novels.
