Newgens, CETHERA launch security-dedicated processor
South Korean data centre and private 5G network solutions company Newgens said on Sunday it will launch a security processing unit developed with security computing startup CETHERA. The companies said the SPU handles security operations in separate hardware, using a structure distinct from CPUs and GPUs. They plan to propose and run proofs of concept for CETHERA’s CTHR-01 accelerator first in data centres and 5G infrastructure, then expand its domestic rollout.
