Samsung Electronics highlights device connectivity strategy at Gamescom for \'anytime, anywhere\' gaming
Samsung Electronics is shifting its gaming strategy from standalone device performance to connectivity across devices. At Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, it presented an integrated gaming ecosystem linking PC, console and mobile under the #PlaySamsung slogan, with four themed zones. The booth used a Korean PC cafe concept and included hands-on demos, cloud gaming and storage products. Samsung also highlighted software cooperation with Activision Blizzard for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Samsung Electronics unveils world\'s first 360Hz OLED gaming monitor
Samsung Electronics unveiled four 2027 Odyssey gaming monitors at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany. The lineup includes the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9, the first 360Hz OLED gaming monitor, as well as the 32-inch OLED G8, 42-inch OLED G7 and 27-inch G6. The company also outlined plans for glasses-free 3D support and expanding compatible games, including titles such as Cyberpunk 2077.

KFTC starts review of alleged Google app market abuse over GVP contracts
South Korea\'s Fair Trade Commission has begun deliberations over allegations that Google abused its dominant position in the app market. The case focuses on GVP contracts signed with 22 major game companies from 2019 that required most-favoured terms for the Google Play Store in timing and quality, in return for support for premium services. The watchdog’s staff proposed corrective orders and a fine that could reach up to 6 percent of relevant revenue.
