Nexon CEO Lee Jung-heon cuts incentive by 50 percent over Maple Growing controversy

Lee Jung-heon (이정헌), chief executive of Nexon’s Japan unit, will cut by 50 percent the incentive allocated to him for 2025, taking responsibility for a controversy over probabilities in “Maple Growing” and the resulting large-scale refunds. Nexon said it would overhaul work systems and corporate culture to prevent a recurrence and restore user trust. It also said the manager in charge resigned and others were disciplined.

Nexon to offer full refunds for \'Maple Raising\' from Feb 5, doubles attack speed compensation

Nexon will accept applications for full refunds for its idle mobile game \'Maple Raising\' from noon on Feb 5 through Feb 15, the company said. The refund covers all amounts paid in app stores from the game’s launch on Nov 6 through 7 p.m. on Jan 28. Refunds will be processed within a month after the application period ends. Nexon also expanded compensation for an attack speed display error by doubling item rewards.
