Amazon hardware chief says app and screen era will fade, outlines on-device AI chip strategy
Amazon is focusing on embedding its own chips in personal devices, CNBC reported. Panos Panay (파노스 파나이), head of Amazon Devices & Services, said Amazon makes its chips end-to-end and develops some key devices from chip design through completion, while still using external chips such as Qualcomm. Amazon has introduced AZ3 and AZ3 Pro chips for running on-device AI models. Panay also said the world may be moving away from apps and screens.
