Kakao Mobility expands logistics AX model linked to industrial vehicles

Kakao Mobility said on May 19 it signed a strategic agreement with HD Hyundai Site Solutions to build a physical AI logistics ecosystem. The companies plan to combine Kakao Mobility’s integrated control and transport management capabilities for different types of mobile devices with HD Hyundai Site Solutions’ unmanned autonomous industrial vehicles and logistics-site control solutions. They will run joint proof-of-concept trials at logistics sites, use the resulting data to develop new business models and explore global opportunities.

Hancom reborn as Hancom, declares shift to sovereign agentic OS company

Hancom, formerly known as Haansoft, set out “sovereign agentic OS” as a key term for its strategy as it transforms into an AI company. It said it aims to become a global agentic OS company that guarantees strong data sovereignty while overseeing and controlling the operation of AI agents. Hancom will change its corporate name to Hancom and end sales of its existing year-based package after Hancom Office 2024, shifting to a platform model with real-time AI upgrades.

KT to apply post-quantum cryptography security to defense systems

KT said on May 19 it will apply post-quantum cryptography to key South Korean defense systems through a 2026 pilot programme led by the Korea Internet & Security Agency with the Ministry of Science and ICT. The project aims to address security threats from advances in quantum computing and to apply and verify cryptography resistant to future quantum attacks on national core infrastructure. KT will run demonstrations with the defense ministry and the Army Information and Communications School.
