UK MI5 warns of AI threat as hostile foreign security threats quadruple in 10 years
Britain\'s MI5 warned that threats from hostile foreign powers such as Russia and Iran are rising sharply and could be intensified by the misuse of AI. MI5 Director General Ken McCallum said the workload from foreign state-related security cases has quadrupled over the past decade and that MI5 is committing more resources than during the Cold War. MI5 also cited arrests linked to Iran and launched an AI Threat Assessment Centre this year.
