South Korea ministry holds meeting to expand public procurement of domestic AI chips
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held an \"AI Semiconductor Innovation Procurement\" meeting on Tuesday to support demand creation and commercialisation for domestically made AI semiconductors in the public sector. The ministry presented the status of public procurement for domestic AI chips, while the Korea Public Procurement Research Institute introduced a pilot-purchase system and application guide. Fabless firms also presented public-sector uses for their NPUs and discussed expansion measures with public agencies and universities.
