iPhone 18 base model could add 12GB RAM, new Dynamic Island design
Apple\'s base-model iPhone 18 could launch in early 2027 and adopt two changes previously associated with Pro models: 12GB of RAM and a new Dynamic Island design, an analyst forecast said. The base model may be excluded from Apple\'s September event, where iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected. Expectations on memory vary, with differing views on 9GB versus 12GB. Both iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e were mentioned as using an A20 chip.

NineToFiveMac reported that Apple is likely to hold prices steady even as parts costs increase. TSMC’s expansion of GPU output to meet AI-driven growth has raised manufacturing costs for Apple’s A20 chip, but Kuo expects Apple to secure chips and absorb costs to expand market share.
