Shinhan Bank launches SuperSOL mid-rate loan for mid-to-low credit borrowers
Shinhan Bank will launch its SuperSOL Mid-Rate Loan on Aug. 21, offering a non-face-to-face mid-rate credit loan for mid-to-low credit borrowers. The product targets customers in the bottom 50 percent of NICE or KCB credit scores. Loans are available up to 20 million won per person at fixed annual rates of 5.5 to 6.9 percent, with maturities up to 36 months. Preferential rate discounts of up to 1.4 percentage points apply.

LG Uplus AI data centre growth and cost efficiency lift operating profit to record quarterly high
LG Uplus said it posted its highest-ever quarterly operating profit, driven by growth in its AI data centre business and cost efficiency. Second-quarter revenue fell 3.9 percent from a year earlier, while service revenue rose 2 percent and operating profit climbed 13.1 percent. The company said it is building a 200-megawatt Paju AI data centre and plans to expand AI solutions. Mobile and smart home revenue also increased.

LG Uplus posts record Q2 operating profit, says enterprise infrastructure drove gains
LG Uplus said it posted a record quarterly operating profit in the second quarter, helped by growth in its AI data centre business and cost efficiency. Revenue fell 3.9 percent from a year earlier, but service revenue rose 2 percent and operating profit climbed 13.1 percent. The company said enterprise infrastructure revenue increased, including AI data centre sales. Mobile and smart home revenue also rose, and it announced additional share buybacks and a higher interim dividend.
