Trump suddenly cancels signing of housing bill; US CBDC ban provision also on hold
U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly cancelled the signing of a bipartisan housing bill that included a provision barring the U.S. government from issuing a central bank digital currency through the end of 2030. Trump said the measure was not important and that he would not sign it until a separate voting-rights bill passes Congress. The housing bill had cleared the Senate 85-5 and the House 358-32, but the delay leaves the CBDC ban and related debate in uncertainty.
