China pushes standard for low-cost compact EVs modeled on Japan\'s kei cars
China\'s auto industry is moving to create a new standard for low-cost compact electric vehicles modeled on Japan\'s kei-car ecosystem, aiming to bring cheap small EVs into a regulated framework. Cui Dongshu proposed formal limits on size, motor output and minimum range, along with a simplified C7 licence for elderly and novice drivers. The plan follows a 2024 ban on many low-speed EVs amid safety concerns.

Donut Lab spotlights cooling design for 11-minute fast-charging solid-state battery motorcycle
Donut Lab released additional details on the battery structure and charging performance of the Verge TS Pro second-generation electric motorcycle equipped with a solid-state battery. The model supports 100 kW-class DC fast charging, taking about 11 minutes to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent. The company highlighted an air-cooled battery pack design using heat transfer plates, small fans and heat sinks, and said external verification data has not been disclosed.

Aron offers free EV charging at highway rest stops during Lunar New Year holiday
EV charging solutions company Aron will provide a free mobile electric vehicle charging service at highway rest stops during the Lunar New Year holiday with hy Mobility. Aron will deploy 10 mobile charging vehicles to five rest stops in the Gwangju-Jeolla area. The service will run for six days from Feb. 13 to 18 at designated locations within each rest stop. Users can receive 20 kWh free from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
