Major South Korean companies working on industrial AI and IoT technologies gathered in one place. Qualcomm Technologies, referred to as Qualcomm, said on Sunday it held 'Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT Day' at The Grand Lotte Seoul in Seoul and shared technologies and application cases related to industrial automation, robotics and agentic AI.

The event was an expanded version of last year's 'Qualcomm IoT Partner & Tech Day'. About 500 people attended, including representatives from domestic customers and partners such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus. Topics included industrial automation, robotics, smart homes and agentic AI, as well as industrial camera-related subjects such as Arduino and Edge Impulse.

In technical sessions, Qualcomm introduced new technologies including 'Qualcomm Linux 2.0' for use in IoT and robotics, the 'Qualcomm Intelligent Robotics Product (QIRP) SDK' as a software development tool to support robot development, and 'Qualcomm AI Workflow'. Through separate presentations, partners including Hyundai Motor's Robotics Lab, SST, Integrit, Dtech and Point Mobile shared growth strategies and success cases based on an ecosystem built with Qualcomm.

At the venue, 16 demos were exhibited with participation from Qualcomm and 10 partners. Qualcomm showcased the 'Dragonwing IQ10 Robotics Reference Design' supporting high-performance on-device AI and precision control, 'Arduino Ventuno Q' using the IQ8 chipset, and an AI media station based on the 'Dragonwing Q8' series. Point Mobile displayed an industrial handheld device using an on-device AI chipset, and Advantech exhibited a vision language model and an industrial drone control module. SST unveiled a booster robot, an AI home hub and a quadruped robot, while Innodisk, Dtech, AtinA, Access Lab, Integrit, Namuga and Wiseplus each demonstrated real-time video analytics and on-device vision-language-action technology.

Kwon Oh-hyung (권오형), Qualcomm's APAC chief, said, "To realise the potential of agentic AI, intelligence must be seamlessly connected and operate across devices, the edge and the cloud." He added, "Based on a broad Dragonwing product portfolio and a global ecosystem, Qualcomm will work with domestic customers and partners to create more cases of innovation in IoT and the robotics industry."
