Infinic, an artificial intelligence platform company, said on Thursday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Asiana IDT focused on cooperation in an industrial safety AI solution business.

The companies plan to implement an AI-based solution that can organically connect on-site risk detection with follow-up safety management tasks.

They plan to review an approach that links Infinic's AI video analysis solution brand AURON-i with Asiana IDT's AI industrial safety and health platform Plan2Do. Under the approach, when AURON-i detects abnormal situations through AI video analysis, including harmful gas leaks, water leaks, fires and failure to wear safety helmets at industrial sites, the Plan2Do AI safety manager would analyse risk factors and mitigation measures and record and manage them on a dashboard.

Based on this, they plan to pursue joint proposals and sales activities, as well as proof-of-concept testing, to flesh out a business model applicable to industrial sites.

Kyungseo Park (박경서), a director at Infinic's AI business division, said the agreement would serve as an opportunity to strengthen a site-centred safety management system by combining Infinic's AI video analysis technology with Asiana IDT's industrial safety and health management capabilities. Park said the companies would continue to expand a cooperation model that can raise safety management standards at industrial sites and contribute to preventing serious accidents, based on their technology and business capabilities.
