A top-50 Shiba Inu wallet has been confirmed to have never sold 5 trillion SHIB for more than four years, drawing attention in the community as a long-term holding case.

The Crypto Basic, a blockchain media outlet, reported on Aug. 21 that the wallet received about 5 trillion SHIB from an unidentified address on Nov. 4, 2021, and has no record of selling to date.

Transaction records compiled by on-chain data platform Arkham show the holdings moved to the wallet a few days after Shiba Inu hit its all-time high of $0.00008845 on Oct. 28, 2021. The SHIB holdings value fell 91.01 percent to about $25.35 million from $281.98 million at the time.

The same pattern is confirmed in the transaction history. The address has not moved SHIB outside even once since November 2021, and it kept holding through multiple market cycles, including the period of a sharp drop after Shiba Inu's 2021 peak. SHIB accounts for the largest share in the wallet.

For this reason, the Shiba Inu community is paying attention to the wallet as a long-term holding case. Some call it "diamond hands" and noted that it not only did not sell its holdings but also did not move them to a centralised exchange.

Still, the absence of withdrawal records over a long period alone cannot determine the wallet's intentions or future selling plans. It has also not been confirmed whether the owner of the address is an individual investor, an institution or a custodial entity, and the community's "diamond hands" label is also an interpretation based on on-chain transaction records.

The holdings were only transferred to the wallet in November 2021, and it has not been confirmed whether they were actually bought at the time. It is therefore possible to gauge changes in the holdings' value by comparing the valuation at the time of the move with the current value, but it is difficult to view this as the wallet owner's actual investment loss or rate of return.

SHIB's price also moved back above $0.000005, which is seen as a psychological resistance level. SHIB traded around $0.000005133, and its market capitalisation was $3.03 billion. It ranked 28th globally by market value. Still, that remains 94.23 percent below the $0.00008845 level recorded in 2021.

The case is drawing attention because a large holder maintained its position even after a sharp price drop. The fact that SHIB remains the wallet's largest holding token has also become a reason the Shiba Inu community takes it as a signal of long-term holding.
