[Digital Today reporter Hojeong Lee] Superfast, the holding company of 111 Percent and an intellectual property (IP)-based culture-tech company, is joining hands with Loud Corporation to expand a global IP ecosystem.
On Feb. 26, Superfast said it signed a strategic partnership with Loud Corporation, a K-culture convergence content strategy company, and will push ahead in earnest with joint IP development and commercialisation.
Superfast is a company builder that produces, invests in and connects content and technologies across industries including games, YouTube, entertainment and fashion to expand IP. It has subsidiaries including 111 Percent, Jju, Frommas, and Superlist.
Loud Corporation is a convergence content company spanning esports content production and distribution, pro gamer and artist management, performances and content businesses. Through Loud Esports, Supergent, Palm Tree Island and Loud Fun Together, it links IP across its business areas to create synergy.
Through this cooperation, the two companies will jointly design "new original IP" with both games and K-culture elements in mind, rather than expanding existing game IP simply into secondary works. They will build an integrated pipeline covering the entire process from planning, production and investment to expansion across platforms and distribution.
In particular, Superfast made a strategic investment based on trust in Loud Corporation's business vision and growth potential, joining as its third-largest shareholder and forming a long-term partnership. The two companies envision building a new model that organically connects technology, production, investment and distribution to secure both the lifespan and scalability of IP.
Kim Kang-an (김강안), chief executive of Superfast, said, "The esports players, artists and performance IP held by Loud Corporation are core assets that have already received high evaluations in domestic and overseas markets." He added, "Through this partnership, we plan to reinterpret that IP with new formats and technologies and present it as a more expanded content experience."
Seo Kyung-jong (서경종), chief executive of Loud Corporation, said, "Superfast is a partner with strengths in converging IP and expanding it into new industries and markets." He added, "Through this cooperation, the two companies will build an expandable IP universe together."
