Dunamu, which operates the digital asset exchange Upbit, posted a sharp drop in revenue and operating profit in the first half of this year from a year earlier. It attributed the decline to a contraction in market trading.
Dunamu said on Thursday that first-half consolidated operating revenue came to 408.1 billion won, down 49.1 percent from 801.9 billion won a year earlier. Operating profit was 111.5 billion won, down 79.7 percent from 549.1 billion won in the same period last year. Net profit was 108.4 billion won, down 74.1 percent from 418.2 billion won a year earlier.
Dunamu analysed that reduced liquidity across the global digital asset market and the resulting weakening in investor sentiment affected the fall in results.
