TMap Mobility said on Thursday it posted second-quarter earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 4.4 billion won. That was up 3.6 billion won from a year earlier. Revenue rose 7.4 percent from a year earlier to 74.4 billion won.

It said monthly operating profit turned positive in June, suggesting the possibility of improved full-year profit and loss results. The company said this signalled that improvements to its business structure were taking shape.

The results were led by core growth in its mobility data and solutions business. It grew 14 percent from a year earlier as data collaboration with various industries expanded and services were upgraded. Pre-installed TMAP AUTO for automakers rose 11.7 percent, while usage-based insurance (UBI), which diversified its data-based auto insurance product lineup, increased 9.6 percent.

The API and data business grew 2.9 percent on the back of B2B data demand. On the platform side, it launched new services such as Open Profile and upgraded its AI place recommendation service to strengthen competitiveness.

Monthly active users (MAU) averaged 15.2 million for the quarter. Monthly users of content such as place search and recommendations stood at 14.7 million, and AI agent traffic increased to 5.56 million.

TMap Mobility CEO Lee Jae-hwan (이재환) said, "The business structure transition we have been pushing centered on AI and mobility data is leading to tangible results." He said, "We will enhance AI-based platform competitiveness and expand synergies with the mobility data business to further strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth and stable profit creation."
